My talk at DLDsummer

Steffi Czerny was kind enough to invite me to talk about the future of manufacturing at the prestigious DLD conference. Afterwards, I got to moderate a panel with one of the leading doers in this field, Joachim Zettler of  Airbus’ APWorks subsidiary. Joachim brought a 3D printed motorcycle onto the stage, carrying it with one hand – an impressive demonstration of the potential of additive manufacturing, when it comes to building lightweight structures.

I believe that 3D printing plus the intersection with synthetic biology will completely transform how we produce things in the next couple of years – so much, that I don’t think we are currently able to imagine what things will look like in 20 years from now.

I am actively working on this subject with my new startup Hyperganic, that I started in January.

Manufacturing under Moore’s Law (Lin Sebastian Kayser & Joachim Zettler) | DLDsummer 16

3D Printing is becoming more and more popular. Lin Sebastian Kayser and Joachim Zettler are outriders in the field of 3D printing. They will hold a discussion about the possibilities this technology holds for the future.
